After years of hard work and delay, Microsoft has eventually succeeded to step up to the plate and has provided with a completely new Smartphone operating system which is Windows Phone 7. The LG Optimus T, Optimus S, presently being offered by Telus only in Canada and by some other multiple carriers that too only in Europe, is announced to be one of the initial batches of WP7 Smartphones.
Looking at LG Optimus T and Optimus S, we find it really amusing with features like a 3.8-inch capacitive touch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a HD capable 5 megapixels camera into an elegant and a solid constructed phone. Something which most of the people appreciate is that it seems quite capable of holding onto weak signal; more over it contains hardware buttons on its front which are easier to use.
Touchscreen Windows Tablet
LG Optimus T and Optimus S till now has released only two models as E900 and 7Q C900. These LG E900 and 7Q C900 run on Windows Phone 7 operating system. LG E900 Optimus T and Optimus S has a 3.8-inch touch screen with a 5 mega-pixel camera, 16 GB internal memory, 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, stereo FM radio, Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, HSUPA and GPS LG E900 Optimus T and Optimus S runs on Windows Phone 7 operating system. The company has not revealed the other information, so far.
When examined from the side it looks like a barely perceptible trapezoid shape, which is mainly due to the top and bottom of the handset which slopes off the front to the back very gently. Along with the protruding, the Windows key is easily identifiable which makes it pretty easy to recognize which end of the phone you're grappling with while it's in your pocket or in the dark.
Now coming towards the thing on which we will pick up on with the Optimus T and Optimus S is its browser rendering which suffers only when the page is zoomed out. When we zoom in the Anti-aliasing kicks are very nice but as soon as we view the page in its full size, details start to generate with jaggy lines. Passing sarcastic remarks regarding its perfection would be rather unfair because the smoothness of the phone speaks for itself.
One of the rather big and main issues is with the Battery. This was one of those areas where we felt almost disappointed and where we were unable to find an appropriate yet effective solution. Expected that the Optimus T and Optimus S 's 1500mAh cell would give us more time away from the cord but, in fact,just like the HD7 and its 1230mAh battery it may lead to disappointment. The battery exhausts itself at somewhere short of two days doesn't matter whatever you're doing. Intensive use does show an advantage over HTC's behemoth, where this battery is capable of withstanding a full day's use and abuse to its maximum. The larger battery is advantageous but less so than it had been initially expected to be.
So choosing Optimus T and Optimus S over other phones could be a good decision if you really want it to use as a second computer, but for those who use phone mostly for important calls or in other words business calls, this is not the phone for you.
